Item Alerts in Item Maintenance
Feature:
Item Alerts within the Item Maintenance module allow users to create and manage alerts related to specific items. These alerts help users stay informed about critical information regarding items, such as updates, expiration dates, and required actions. This feature is accessible from Item Maintenance under the Maintenance menu by selecting Item Alerts.
Accessing Item Alerts
- Navigate to Item Maintenance:
- Go to the Maintenance menu.
- Select Item Maintenance to access item details.
- Locate Item Alerts:
- Within Item Maintenance, select Item Alerts to view, add, or edit alerts related to specific items.
Item Alerts Options
In the Item Alerts screen, the following fields and options are available for creating and managing alerts:
- Line Number (Line#):
- Represents the sequential order of each alert related to the item.
- Helps to prioritize or organize multiple alerts for easy reference.
- Must Read Checkbox:
- When checked, this option marks the alert as a “Must Read” for users.
- Ensures that important alerts are acknowledged by prompting users to review them upon accessing the item.
- Created On Date:
- Indicates the date when the alert was created.
- This date helps users track the origin and duration of the alert.
- Expires On Date:
- Specifies the expiration date for the alert.
- Once the date is reached, the alert is automatically removed or archived, depending on the system’s configuration.
- This field is optional and can be left blank if no expiration is needed.
- Header Description:
- A concise, summary title for the alert.
- This field provides a quick overview of the alert’s subject, making it easy to identify among multiple alerts.
- Body Description:
- Contains the full details or instructions of the alert.
- This description should include any necessary information users need to act on or be aware of regarding the item.
Visibility of Item Alerts
- Once an alert is created, it will be displayed on the top left side of the screen.
- This visible positioning ensures that users immediately see any important alerts associated with the item upon accessing its details.
